Some Friendly Words About Pricing
In the realm of writing and editing, where precision is key, establishing a billing model that truly reflects the effort and time invested is critical.

Since embarking on my journey in this field in 2014, I've garnered some practical insights on the subject:

Charging by the word or the page often does not fully capture the intricate process involved in editing and refining an essay.
First, this approach overlooks the substantial time invested in revisions and back-and-forths, which typically involve adjustments and enhancements that are not easily quantifiable by word or page count. This means a significant portion of the editor's time and effort may go uncompensated.

For clients, this "pay-by-the-word" model can also pose inconveniences. They find themselves paying for each word, including seemingly insignificant ones like "the" and "a", which do not substantially contribute to the core narrative. Moreover, this method doesn't account for the words or sentences that eventually get edited out in the refinement process. Clients bear the cost for text that doesn't make it to the final draft, which doesn't seem fair.

Considering these points, it has become increasingly clear that charging by the hour works better when dealing with the dynamic and unpredictable nature of the editing process. This approach ensures that the time invested in developing the piece to its finest version is appropriately accounted for, and fosters a more equitable and transparent working relationship.
And interestingly, based on extensive experience, we have observed that clients usually incur a lesser cost when billed by the hour, a testament to the efficiency and value this payment structure offers.

To maintain utmost transparency, we use a time-tracking tool that records ever minute we spend buffing and polishing your document to perfection and communicating with you about your project. We provide upfront estimates, often leaning towards a slightly higher guestimate to act as a "padding" to avoid any financial surprises later.

Oh, and just a little heads-up, friends: if you're in a hurry, we can certainly accommodate, but keep in mind that a faster turnaround comes with a slightly higher price tag—it's our way of making sure that even rush jobs get the love and attention they deserve!
